Dearest Child: Letters between Queen Victoria and the Princess Royal 1858-1861.

SKU: 13069

Edited by Roger Fulford. Queen Victoria and her eldest daughter carried on a frank, intimate conversation in letters after the Princess Royal married Prince Frederick of Prussia. These letters reveal a Queen very different from the popular view of a prudish, isolated monarch. She also shares frank views on her nephew Wilhelm the future Kaiser, and on her son Edward who would someday be King. The purple cloth cover has some wear and fading. The jacket is worse for wear. Some pencil marks on pages. Holt, Rinehart and Winston, New York, Chicago, San Francisco. 1964. USED. $7.00
