Among his other skills and abilities, Keynes was a noted bibliographer, and he was the younger brother of the famous economist. His preface discusses R. W. Chapman's recent work. Title page and half title page facsimiles of first, second, first American, etc. are included. Valuable resource in excellent condition. Errata included in this edition. Cream paper spine. Light blue cloth boards. Paper label to spine, spare tipped in at the rear of the book. Blue jacket, spine is sun faded to beige. Bookplate inside front cover "A. T. Bartholomew. Cambridge." This copy was a gift from the author to the WW1 poet Siegfriend Sassoon. Written in ink on first front endpaper "Handed on to SS by GKeynes," Gilson letter sent to previous owner describes provenance.  A few penciled notes by Sassoon identifying Austen novels he owns.
