Elizabeth Fry [1780-1845] was an English prison reformer and Quaker philanthropist. She has been depicted on the Bank of England 5 pound note since 2001. This travel tale is gleaned from her niece's diaries (Gurney) as well as other primary sources. Introduction by R. Brimley Johnson, fwd by The Right Hon. Sir Maurice de Bunson, Bart., GCMC. With illustrations, many from the diarist's own entertaining sketches. Red cloth covers, gilt titles. Spine is faded, covers with some damage, now in mylar. No Dj.
