First novel by Lancelot George Allnut Thirkell [1921-1989?], third son of novelist Angela Thirkell. It is a comedy. His main character survives many maladventures. The book is formerly the property of the New South Wales Railways Institute' s library, whose members could sign out four books at a time. Their policy is taped inside the front cover.
