SKU: 15051

Two volumes. Herbert was an Irish diarist and poet. This is the first publication of her works. They contain local accounts of her life as the daughter of a rector in late 18th century Ireland. The story of her unrequited love for John Roe is also reflected. Despite isolation and depression, she wrote novels and plays as well as poetry, but most of her work has been lost. Excellent condition. Black cloth spine with marbled cloth boards. Clean pages. Gerald Howe, London, 1929 and 1930. USED. $35.00
