Katherine Mansfield [1888-1923] was a New Zealand writer and critic who is credited with revolutionizing the short story. She moved from New Zealand to England at age 19 where she became part of the Bloomsbury group. Her early death (at age 34) of tuberculosis was felt deeply by the literary world.
