The Kit-Cat Club.
The Kit-Cat Club was founded in the late 1690's when London bookseller Jacob Tonson and pimaker Christopher (Kit) Cat joined forces to feed talented young writers and get first option to publish their works. Cat provided the food, Tonson published. The Club became a unique gathering place of key intellectuals of the time period.
