SKU: 10203

Isabella Bird [1831-1904] was one of those intrepid travellers of the 19th century who became a household name. Her travelling began in 1854 when a doctor recommended sea air for her frail health, and she sailed to the Americas. She wrote this book about those journeys and went on to make more trips including several countries in Asia and the Middle East,, Australia, Hawaii, and back to the Americas where she famously explored the Rocky Mountains. This little book is a reprint of the first book she wrote about her travels, originally published in 1854. Konemann, Koln. 2000. Hb, Dj. NEW. $10.00
