Mary Cholmondeley: A Sketch from Memory

Cholmondeley [1859-1925] was an English novelist who grew up mostly in Hodnet with a Reverend for a father and other writers in her family. Her satirical novel Red Pottage (1899) was a success but was denounced as immoral. The author talks about her in terms of his personal memories, as well as the information he accessed from papers and letters. Very good in brown cloth but no jacket. Published by Jonathan Cape, London, 1928. USED. $45.00
