Edited by Francis P. Hett. Mrs. Sibbald [1783-1866] was the wife of a colonel and daughter of a naval officer. At age 70 she wrote this memoir about the first 29 years of her life. Hett adds notes throughout to help us identify references that would have been quite meaningful to people in her time period, but would otherwise be lost on us.
