Woollcott, Alexander.

$10.00

Woollcott [1887-1943] was a critic and commentator for the New Yorker magazine and on radio. In this book, the famous critic tells perhaps-true anecdotes about people he may  have come into contact with. This collection of essays appeared in The New Yorker and other magazines.  Interesting for us, the book includes a short essay in which he discusses his love for Jane Austen. The essay was prompted by his excitement over a new work by Austen, because in the same year as the essay (1933) Volume the First was released by Oxford! He is delighted with this new discovery. No jacket. The Viking Press, Inc. Literary Classics Edition. NY. 1943. USED. $10.00
